If the funds were going to be used to fund a government enforcement agency, then yes. If it was a private business, no. I wouldn't trust a private business to do a good job, but rather to chase profit.

I would not only pay a little more for someone to patrol for child predators, but I would pay more if some agency could employ full-time people to try to stop viruses. It's frustrating how many people are using the internet just to do evil crap to other people. The enforcement does seem lacking. It seems to be a case where technology has outpaced society and laws.

• I would definately pay even thogh my kids are older but if it could even catch just a few that would make it worth it. One dollar more a month is not even a cup of coffee. Personally I think something should be set up for age recognition when you log on and monitor the difference between ages. There are always ways around things but this is where parents come in.

I wouldn't. I don't know anything about the organization that would be set up, but unless I had some kind of control or say in what happened I wouldn't be interested in funding it. Who's to say they're actually going to do a good job? If they fail, who breaks them up?

I would. If it were a certainty. However I know that if someone (predators or criminals) want something bad enough, they will find another way around it. There are task forces that do nothing but monitor the Internet for predators. but that doesn't stop them. And those caught only represent a small number of the actual online criminals.

This "policing" needs to be done by parents. We are the ones who have more control over what our children are exposed to than any agency. There are plenty of ways that one can keep their child safe while on the Internet.

I have a Family Safety installed on my son's laptop. I can see every URL he visits, and when there is one that meets the given criteria, it will not let him access it. It gives him the option to send me an email requesting access, or to ask in person and I can put in a password to allow access. It is really helpful and allows me to control what he sees and does, without having to sit right next to him.

There are also other ways such as restricting computer access to a family room, or only when you are present. yes, children have ways of doing anything these days, but if a parent is pro-active they can limit the amount of exposure a child has to some of the harmful content out there.
