Don't assume that your son didn't know anything about it. These kids talk to each other about everything.

And don't assume that it was anything more than just curiosity. These kids talk about things and then look them up.

It would be a good time to call the boys into the kitchen with a snack and blow the topic wide open. If this other kid is subversive, he will get nervous about questions concerning a bomb.

Go to the history of that time and print out the information. You may find that they had heard so much about this stuff at school, the news, or at home that their curiosity got the better of them. But you may find that there was a whole other issue that is very serious. If that is the case, then I would call his parents, or make an appointment with the school counselor outlining your fears. They counselor can handle it with out pulling you into the middle of it.

Then lastly, I would not loan out the use of my computer anymore.

I would wait until the other boy went home and I would question my son about it. If my son didn't know anything about it, I would look at the browser history. If the pages in the history were leaning toward making bombs for the purpose of harming people, I would definitely speak to his parents.

I wouldn't drop it there either. I'd follow up with his parents to see what they found out from talking to their son, if they did. If they didn't take it seriously, I would talk to the school counselor about what happened. At least the counselor will be aware of a possible problem and can keep an eye on him, hopefully.
