Conundrum Next Conundrum

I am tired of giving gift certificates for my parents, who are in their sixties.

They have limited space in their home, and can buy anything they want or desire. Yet Dad's birthday and their 47th wedding anniversary are coming up in mid November. Do you have any unique gift suggestions for me.

My mom is in her 70's and I think she just enjoys going out to dinner with her family. Perhaps you could find a nice restaurant in your area, dress up, pick them up and pick up the tab! Don't forget the birthday dessert!

They're not allowed to criticize you for just giving them a card, you know. :)

How about a digital photo frame, preloaded with a selection of family pictures. The stories that they can tell you about who, and what and when would be great to hear and they'll enjoy telling them.

Alternatively (and still on the same sort of theme) you could get together with the rest of your family and organise a surprise family portrait including brothers, sisters, partners, children and grandchildren. They'll be thrilled by the gift and delighted that all of their family is thinking of them.

If you can't get together then try making a photomosaic of everyone.... which would be great as you could include (geographically) distant relatives as well as more extended family
