What is a good gift for a 10-year-old girl?
Since children are growing up more and more quickly, finding gifts for children is becoming more difficult. What is a good gift for a 10-year-old girl who is becoming more and more like a teenager and who is very picky with what she wears? I want to get her something more personal than books or movies.

I would say no to gift cards, only because I believe they are the most impersonal gift one could give.
Can you talk with her mother to see what she's really into? Or do you have any friends with children in her age group that you could speak with?
If you're really close to her, I would suggest taking her out for an afternoon of shopping and pedicures, followed by lunch at her favorite restaurant.

I think the important thing is to find out exactly what this particular 10-year-old is totally into. It varies - some girls at this age are already in the "teen mindset" while others are still enjoying playing with dolls. Some are split with one foot in each world, so to speak. If she's big into clothing and is picky, I'd take her out with you - let her make the choices (within reason of course). If she wants a pink sparkly sweater with Hannah Montana blazed across the front, then that is what she shall have! I like the idea that you're going for a more personal approach, by the way. Have fun!!!
