How can I gracefully tell someone whose prices are twice that of the next competitor that their services are out of line with the market?

I don't know why this is under "Travel" because the question can apply to any pricing in any market, so I will answer it accordingly.

I think the best way is to nicely ask the person if they have researched what competitors are charging in their field. If they say yes, listen to how they came to the conclusion as to what they are charging.

If they say no, have your proof handy of the person or company charging half as much and nicely suggest that they check on that link or advertisement or whatever.

Chances are that it will be an awakening and appreciated, and the person can seriously consider adjusting the price of their product or service.

If the person is annoyed with you, instead, just "go on your way" and drop the subject. It is, after all, his or her decision; and they have to live with the consequences.
