Maybe.
However, I don't think that there is anything wrong with ordering merchandise online and then having it delivered to your house.
Oktoberfest is a good example of this. The online Oktoberfest shop is filled with many of the same items you find at the fair and for about the same price (plus shipping). The last time I visited, I ordered a couple of Steins and some hats before I left. They arrived before I came back home nicely packaged and saved from the rigors of carry on luggage.
In contrast, the year prior, I didn't order online and ended up forgetting my souvenirs at the hotel.
Still, if you buy "Canadian Maple Syrup" in the Buffalo airport... well, something just doesn't seem right about that :)

What am I, your mother? Of course it's OK.
But it's really funny!
One summer my husband's gramma left us a voice mail asking if we wanted to buy her land in California. We got all excited about it, speculating about what a deal we were going to get. Turns out, she meant a clear Christmas ornament we had given her, with "sand from the California beach" inside it!
