If i have the choice , i prefer to take 1st class air travel, traveling in style. It would also make it more comfortable for me, sitting on a larger roomier, plus the extra service on offer for first class sit.. For me a hotel room is just a place to sleep, when i travel to other countries I normally stay outside enjoying the sceneries and just returning to my room when it is time to sleep.

• It was difficult to select a best answer for this question. Everyone made a good point. Actually, I am still undecided whether I would pay for the suite or the first class airfare myself. Your pictures did make the difference, I have flown first class, but never in the configuration of your images. I suppose when I take a transoceanic flight in first class I'll savor that luxury firsthand. Well, it's OK to wish.

I would pay for a luxury hotel suite because I would most likely be spending more time there than on an airplane. Plus, no matter what class you fly in you are always going to be uncomfortable because you don't have the freedom to move around as you please.

I would have to pick Air Travel.
For me it would be a waste of money to pay more for a luxury hotel then the daily rates they charge. I don't swim so wouldn't use their pool, not big on eating in a hotel room so wouldn't order room service and I don't carry nor own expensive items (watches, cars, etc) so don't need a safe. Also I don't drink so don't need the bar.
Gee, that makes me sound so boring. lol

I would prefer the high end suite at a luxury hotel. I'd simply enjoy it more than flying. That being said, if it was first class and a normal room vs. economy class and a luxury sweet, I'd have to in that case select the first class air travel. I just can't take being boxed up in that small a space for that long.

If I were paying out of my own pocket I would choose economy for both the flight and the room. However, that was not the question. I have to say I would fly first class. The simple reason is because flying first class is cheaper then the price of a high end suite at a luxury hotel.

Given the choice between paying for a standard flight/premium hotel or a premium flight/standard hotel I'd go for the premium flight every time.
On a business trip (or even vacation) I'm unlikely to be spending a huge amount of time in the hotel (except when I'm sleeping). Yes a nicer hotel is nice, but its unlikely to improve my performance or effectiveness.
On the other hand a premium flight is less stressful and may actually allow me to sleep on the journey, meaning that when I get to my destination I'm going to be able to start doing whatever I'm doing right away without having to spend my time recovering from the journey.
So in terms of Bang for your buck, the flight is a better investment... and as I'm going to be paying for it that matters to me!

I would take the first class air fare. Planes can be brutal, besides it doesn't matter what type of room I sleep and shower in. I am there for the scenery, people, things to do. A hotel room is not that important. However, more leg room, better food, and all the benefits of flying first class makes a huge diference. That's it, the plane ride. Stuck in there and can't escape, might as well make it better if possible.

If it was coming out from my pocket, I would prefer a first class luxury chartered air plane rather than a first class A380. Even though we ride inside the first class airplane, we still share the same room, same toilet, same dish with others, Why don't get chartered airplane if we go for extreme luxury, rite? ;)
