Administrative work is a necessary evil. What makes it more burdensome than it should be at times is that some businesses adhere to antiquated methods and processes to keep their administrative affairs in order. Worse yet, are those companies that carry out a particular administrative measure not out of practical necessity, but just as part of a bloated and bureaucratic "habit."

Necessary, it is the management of the businesses affairs and staff. You could not run any type of organization without the backoffice work. It keeps things from becoming chaotic as the business grows.

It's definitely a necessary evil. You can automate a lot, but you can't automate everything. Also, even if you can outsource, you have to think carefully about who you should trust.

As one who was an administrative assistant for 20 years, I can tell you it is very necessary, and very boring, tedious, and largely unsatisfying. Doing basically the same things day after day was what burned me out. I felt like my brain was turning to mush.
