Answered Conundrum Next Conundrum
Would it be appropriate for me to add "I was the 2006 TIME Person of the Year" on my Resume?
In '06 I was a blogger and a content creator and active on most social networks.

It will surely get you some attention, and you'd better have a great story attached to it. But yes, you actually could, and probably even should, especially with your track record, and the type of job you would probably be after (even though I would think you would most probably start your own company..)
A resume has to be truthful, but at the same time, it should be something that gets the attention of the HR manager who is checking your application. When he sees this, he might draw any of two conclusions: Either he casts your application away as bogus, OR he gets intrigued by how you dare to put that statement down.
In the latter case, you've got him right where you want him, as you'll be in an excellent situation to explain him that you have exactly what is needed to think 'out of the box', be innovative, and get your point across.
So yeah, go for it!
In a year or two, Obama is bound to follow in your steps, as he now already has won the Nobel Prize, he is destined to be 'TIME Person of the Year' soon too...
But you might want to find a more suitable place to drink your beer/wine next time, HR managers check the internet too nowadays...
Edit: Silly me.. Obama was Time Person of the Year in 2008!

Even though it's a fun idea I think you need to take the "You" in the ad as a plural and not singular. No single person controls the Information Age. And so You means Us not Me.
But I do say add it - you will probably get some recruiter or resume reviewer's attention. They may even do research and find your attempt humorous and worthy of additional consideration.

It depends on the job... but if part of your 'selling' of yourself involves some flair and creativity and its a web 2.0 type job that you're going for its an excellent idea. Just be aware that if they actually read your cv then they're going to ask you quesions about it in the interview. But seeing as you know its coming you can prepare some fantastic answer that shows you're just the person that they need
